National Park ofAsinara

Small and beautiful wild island located in the northwest of Sardinia became a National Park in 2002, kept wilde thanks to the presence of the High Security Prison until 1988.

Surrounded by the splendid and fishy sea of the Gulf, it is also known for its pristine beaches and coves including the Cala di Sabina, Punta Barbarossa and Cala Trabuccato.
During the rainy season the formation of some ponds allow the presence of different marine species birds accompanied by terrestrial species. The flora is dominated by the Majestic Mediterranean vegetation and in a area called “Elighe Mannu” we find a small original woodland of Lecci (Quercus Ilex).

From the nearby Stintino and from Porto Torres daily connections are guaranteed by taxi boat and ship. It is also possible to hire boas for private parking and enjoy the magnificent landscapes and explore the depths that this magical sea can offer.
